The 2005 trip was another very fun trip. We returned
to a campground we had stayed in several years before. It is one of the last sites in the camp ground to the east direction.
It is very close to the entrance to the trail which leads to the river access in the east part of the park. There is some
poison oak in the campsite but it is relatively easy to avoid. This site provided plenty of shade during the day and a nice
campfire area for the night. To the southeast side of the site there is a small stream coming down the hill, be careful when
setting up tents around this stream, it can be hazardous when you have to leave the tent at night, you can trip and fall over
the stream. One downside to this site is its distance from the camp store, it would be nearly impossible to carry large amounts
of wood and/or ice back to camp without a car, so plan on driving out to the camp store. There are restrooms within running
distance of the site, but far enough away that it doesn't stink up the site. In summary, this site is a wonderful site, but
I would not advise this site if you don't plan on driving to the camp store.
