The 3rd year saw a slightly less pleasent but still enjoyable trip. For the
first time we encountered a small rain shower on our first day, the shower was small but got into many of our supplies which
were unprotected. After that year we were sure to be prepared to cover our supplies and also bought several cans of rain protectant
for our tents.
Also during this trip we encountered a large amount of annoying flies.
They were most noticeable during the heat of the day but were also present at night. We soon went out and bout several
bug repelant products, but the thing that proved most effective was a small smoldering fire in the fire pit or a citronela
candle placed in the center of our table.
For the first time on this trip we ventured onto some of the hiking
trails located in and around the park. These proved to be very beautiful trails which require little physical effort to traverse.
Located along one of these trails is a nature center which holds several exhibits featuring wildlife from the area.
